Jacquelin’s childhood wasn’t very remarkable. She was a pampered aristocrat in French wine country before her parents moved the family to the Netherlands. She wasn’t weird and kind of fit the stereotype for wealth. She was just very feisty.
When she was in her late teens, a group of Sabbat gangrel burned down her home. She didn’t know whether or not her parents had survived, but she was able to stumble into the woods. Jakkie was stalked by a member of the Sabbat group, a certain gangrel who had a personal vendetta against the Delalos.
He didn’t kill her right away. Instead, he took her back to the burned out house and terrorized her for what seemed like ages, before Siring her. When she comes to, she is alone again and stumbles down the road. She runs into a passerby and promptly feeds on him until he is completely drained. Equally pleased and horrified with herself, she once again flees into the woods.
During her first sunrise as a newly made Kindred, she realizes the daytime isn’t her domain anymore and quickly learns to adapt to and stalk the night. Jacquelin wanders deep into the forests and is eventually met with a group of werecats, a handful of survivors from the Ceilican tribe. After much debate, they take the lone girl into their fold and teach her their ways.
A rare occurrence, but some of the elders sensed and animalistic totem in Jakkie, and her giving in to the ‘Beast’ left her with cat-like features.
Jacquelin is able to stay with Bastet for years, living among them in peace. That is, until the Camarilla decided to hunt her down. Her Sire, merely a name-less face to Jakkie, turned out to be an important name to Van Leuwen, Amsterdam’s’ current Prince.
The camp is tracked down, and most of her companions are slaughtered. The Ceilican blame Jacquelin for luring Kindred to their domain and shun her. Without anywhere to run, she is eventually captured by Van Leuwen’s goons, who take her in for questioning. She doesn’t seem to have any relevant information for them, however.
The Camarilla would not stand for an un-aligned gangrel living in their woods, so they arrange for her to be thought the Masquerade and be integrated into the organization. She heavily resists at every turn, and after one too many remark about the werecats, Jakkie brutally drains and murders her tutor. Diablarie isn’t something easily looked over so she returns to the abanded camp of her former tribe, and it is in this area where she still resides, today.
“The Gangrel are one of the thirteen vampire clans found in the Classic World of Darkness. Nomads who hold closer ties to the wild places than most of their city-bound cousins, they are also closer to the animal aspect of the Beast, and are masters of the Protean Discipline. They were one of the seven founding clans of the Camarilla, but became disillusioned with the sect in the Final Nights, its elders eventually deciding to sever its ties and become an independent clan.
Due to their inherent clan weakness, Gangrel are very close to the Beast within; as they succumb to it, it leaves its mark on their bodies. Every time a Gangrel frenzies, they gain an animalistic feature. This feature is determined by the player and Storyteller; it might be tufted ears, a pelt, a tail, catlike eyes, a snarling voice, tusks, even scales or feathers. Every five such features acquired permanently reduce one of the Gangrel’s Social Attributes by one. As of V20, this weakness has been augmented to a temporary form. Gangrel who frenzy acquire temporary animal traits. However there can be circumstances where the vampire frenzies too much or suffers a particularly intense frenzy that leave the Gangrel with permanent animal features.”
